It is breast cancer awareness month and the perfect time for SoftVue™ to gain the local spotlight on Fox 2 Detroit. Dr. Awan, a radiologist at Beaumont Dearborn and one of the SoftVue™ clinical research investigators, was interview by Deena Centofanti on Fox 2’s “The Doctor Is In” segment about general breast health information that women need to know, including the importance of the SoftVue™ Discover Breast Ultrasound Prospective Case Collection project currently taking place at Beaumont. The goal of the SoftVue™ Discover Breast Ultrasound Prospective Case Collection project is to enroll 10,000 asymptomatic women with dense breast tissue who will receive a SoftVue™ exam in addition to their annual digital mammogram. Information gathered from the project will compare SoftVue™ imaging to digital mammography to determine the effectiveness of detecting additional cancers with SoftVue™ that are not seen with mammography alone, particularly for women with dense breast tissue.
