Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and infrastructure for application to breast imaging, including classification of lesions in tomographic ultrasound images. Provide mathematical, algorithmic, and programming expertise in the area of image processing and image analysis. Work with cross-functional teams to define roadmap for machine-learning applications to ultrasound breast cancer screening.
- Develop machine learning algorithms and infrastructure for application to breast imaging, including classification of lesions in 2D and 3D medical images
- Design and implement sophisticated image processing and analysis algorithms
- Create software tools for effective algorithm training and testing, perform software validation and verification, maintain code
- Support both prototype and commercial system development efforts, including work with internal teams and customers to improve solutions
- Investigate and solve exciting challenges in medical image classification
- Communicate ideas and brainstorm with fellow researchers on ideas and problems
- Publication of results is encouraged — team has a strong publication track record in journals, conference proceedings

Masters of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field (PhD preferred)
5+ years of experience in computer vision, pattern recognition, and machine learning techniques
5+ years of software development experience
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and medical image analysis
Strong Matlab skills including image processing & analysis
Java and/or Python programming skills, including experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn
C/C++, OpenCV experience also desirable
Other Desirable Skills and Experience:
Prior experience with breast imaging or cancer screening
Ability to generate production -code
A strong portfolio of related publications and/or patents
