IT Intern

Position Summary:

The position is an entry level intern role that requires exceptional customer service skills, strong attention to detail, solid troubleshooting skills, ability to work well in a team, and capability to work independently or work under minimal supervision, with excellent oral and written communication skills.  The intern must be able to learn quickly; sometimes, with little instructions.  Must be capable of exercising good judgment, prioritizing tasks and managing time.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Respond to support requests via email, phone or in-person
  2. Troubleshoot hardware/software related issues
  3. Install hardware/software
  4. Monitor system/network environment
  5. Execute system/network related tasks
  6. Write documentation
  7. Other duties as required
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of college (Information Technology, Computer Science or Network Administration concentrations preferred), trade school education or related experience.

A+, Network+, Linux+, Microsoft Certifications or other vendor certifications desired, but not required.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in the following areas:

  1. MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    1. Break/Fix
    2. Diagnosing hardware/software issues
    3. Installing/Uninstalling hardware/software
    4. Performing general maintenance on hardware/software
  2. Windows 7/8/10
    1. Install
    2. Upgrade
    3. Repair

Additionally, candidates with experience in these areas are preferred:

  1. Basic understanding of networking
  2. Windows Server 2012
  3. Linux (CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu, etc…)
